Hand sewn, original designs made primarily from vintage and deadstock fabrics. The namesake is from my grandmother, Bernice “Bea” Less, an incredibly skilled quilter who helped teach me how to sew from a very young age. Sewing and working with my hands are my truest forms of self-expression, and I believe that beautiful clothing has the power to evoke deep emotion and sentiment.
What started in 2020 as a way to make extra money during unemployment has since evolved into a platform to share my original designs, connect with other creatives, and begin selling sewing patterns.
vintage fabric blouses
Each piece was one-of-a-kind, crafted from vintage fabrics and sold in a range of sizes through the brand's Instagram.
WOOL BLANKET COAT
Vintage Italian wool blanket, reimagined into a coat. After creating the sewing pattern it took me 19 hours to hand sew each stitch, perfectly spaced apart.
quilt hoodie
I found the perfect vintage quilt that had some edge and masculinity to make a hoodie for my boyfriend.
wedding dress REWORKED
I had a client hire me to take her mother’s 1980s wedding dress, and turn into a new dress for her reception. I loved being able to create a sentimental piece for her, and collaborate during the design process.
my dad’s sweater
I love making clothes for people I love. Dad’s Christmas sweater took a year to finish, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Knitting pattern was vintage 1980s.
QUILT BLOCK CORSET
Quilt blocks my grandma Bernice pieced together before she passed, reimagined into a corset. Boning was added to provide stability, and the corset was finished with ribbon laces at the straps and laced up at the back.
CUSTOM BRIDAL SET
I made this corset and mini skirt for a bride-to-be from a vintage damask tablecloth sourced in Iowa. The corset is complete with boning, silk lining, back ties and vintage lace edge finishing.
CUSTOM BLOUSE
The below is a custom blouse I made for a client, taking notes of femininity from the Bea Shop brand while adjusting the pattern to fit a male figure. Sewn from 1970s silk and vintage lace.
wool chore jacket
A two-tone 1950s wool blanket from the Netherlands reimagined as a men’s chore jacket. I preserved the original whip stitched edges from the blanket to use as the hem finishing. Vintage horn buttons selected for the center front opening.
